Alright, it's my third day into reviewing at a consistent level. I'm happy but also know that I need to more, especially since when I did take a language class at a college level we definitely did more everyday. So, I just need to be more...committed in other ways than just doing an hour lesson everyday. This means I need to speak it more, especially in a conversation-style. This I guess I am kinda of avoiding because I tend to get frustrated when speaking it and trying to correct myself.
And speaking of frustration while going over some verbs I realized that there’s no specific form to follow when changing the tense of a word. For example when speaking about people running the word is yijah. And the verb for eating is aya (sorry I do not have the Navajo font so I could include the different markings). But when you are trying to say that people (men and women) are running you say “Hastoi doo saanii yijah,” so then you would think that to say people (men and women) are eating is “Hastoi doo saanii aya,” but it’s not, it’s “Hastoi doo saanii da aya.” Some verbs have “da” in front of it. So, that’s just one example of how one just needs ‘to know’ what verb is left alone or has “da” in front of it. It’s interesting but a little frustrating…Nonetheless I’m happy to be learning.
