Rough Start
Today was technically my first day studying Navajo even though I did not do much. I got a little intimidated when I reviewed the various ways to pronounce the vowels and consonants. In addition, since creating this blog I informed my parents about it which made dindin time a language lesson. During that time I was reminded of the level of complexity around evening speaking Navajo. There's so many ways to say something and rarely do words that are in different pretenses include the same affixes, so it's hard to know where to place the indicators for creating a different pretense. Despite all that I was able to recall some words I had learned from my last attempt to learn the language and even created some crude sentences. I still have a long way to go, though.

I have to say, it's really good for me too to hear everyone in the house "learning" some Dine' Bizaad. I can't really find the time on my own, but with you, Dez, and Tasha too trying to improve it helps me. TIna can be a big help too, so I'm happy for all of us.
